We spent Columbus Day weekend in Las Cruces, NM at la casa Roman. We celebrated "Thanksgiving" early, as well as having a baby shower for Sarah & Augusto. The kids had a great time with their cousins.

Mike, Jim, and Edgar took a trip to Washington to hike the 93 mile Wonderland trail. We got about two thirds before bailing out due to rain, wind, snow, ankle problems, boots exploding, wet tents, and general malaise.

Another fun-filled day of adventure. Started off with a brunch, then tumbled down to the 8th Street parade with wagonload of kids. Then we did our own little fireworks show and topped it off with Colin's first late night fireworks show.

Colin is going to public school this September, and so are many of his buddies in class. So his daycare had a 'graduation' for them. Adam even got to perform a little song. However, Colin thought the best part was the cake afterwards.

The family took a trip to London to see Stephanie and Jeremy and new addition Holden. Had a great time going to show Colin knights and castles. Adam settled for planes, trains, and buses. Weather worked out pretty well and hopefully the kids will remember this trip. Just a small scare toward the end of the trip with a missing backpack, but the nice Heathrow Express police came to the rescue. Definitely one of our more exciting Memorial Days.

Happy Cinco de Mayo! Cousin Jorge stayed with us the week before when he was in town for work, then the Loukotas came to visit for the weekend. We also celebrated John's birthday and had our Cinco de Mayo party on Saturday.

Karen's a capella group sang the anthems at last week's NBA game - the Washington Wizards v. Toronto Raptors (had to sing Canadian anthem too!). The game was sold out, but most people were not in their seats yet for the anthems. It was still fun, though!

Boy, what an exciting weekend! The weather was beautiful and events were happening. Both the boys are truly in summer mode now. With Adam's new found powers of walking, his world is so much more exciting. Events included going to the National Air and Space museum visits from family, baseball games, and a grand re-opening of our local library.

Took Colin to a soccer game and he loved it. Even better was that they were giving out free soccer balls to the fans upon entering the stadium. Talk about hitting the jackpot! Immediately after the game, we headed over the park to give the new ball a spin (so to speak).
